La traviata

For the first time, Giuseppe Verdi’s masterpiece La traviata will be performed on the Seebühne. The premiere takes place on 22 July 2026. The production is directed by Damiano Michieletto, with musical direction by Kirill Karabits and Pietro Rizzo.

The Excursions of Mr. Brouček

Leoš Janáček’s The Excursions of Mr. Brouček celebrates its world premiere on 23 July 2026 at the Festspielhaus. Staged by the US-American director Yuval Sharon, composed by Robert Jindra.

The Opera Studio’s production of L’elisir d’amore by Gaetano Donizetti, directed by Anna Kelo, will be presented at the Theater am Kornmarkt on 17, 19, 21 and 22 August 2026.

Passion of the Common Man

Passion of the Common Man by Daníel Bjarnason and Royce Vavrek will celebrate its world premiere at the Werkstattbühne on 31 July 2026—commissioned by the Bregenzer Festspiele featuring vocal performances by Emma Kajander, Anne Sofie von Otter, Aaron Godfrey-Mayes and Jacques Imbrailo. Additional performance on 1 August 2026.

Le Malade imaginaire

Molière’s brilliant final work will be presented at the Bregenzer Festspiele—a co-production with the Schauspiel Köln and the Burgtheater under the direction of Stefan Bachmann. Performances will take place at the Theater am Kornmarkt from 24 to 26 July 2026.

As part of the Österreichische Theaterallianz the drama under the influence at the Theater KOSMOS will celebrate its world premiere on the 12 August 2026 as a co-production with the Bregenzer Festspiele.

On July 27, 2026, the Wiener Symphoniker will perform works by Saariaho, Boulanger, and Dvořák, under the baton of Dalia Stasevska — with Emily D’Angelo, Andrew Staples, and Rafael Fingerlos as soloists.

On 2 August, works by Sibelius and Stravinsky will be featured in the program of the Wiener Symphoniker under the baton of Eva Ollikainen. Guido Sant’Anna will appear as soloist in Sibelius’s Violin Concerto.

On 23 August, 2026, conductor Leo McFall, the Symphonieorchester Vorarlberg, and soprano Emma Kajander will present works by Smyth, Britten, Maconchy, and Elgar at the Festspielhaus.

On 10 August, 2026, the Wiener Symphoniker, will perform Deutsch’s Intensity (Austrian premiere), under the baton of Petr Popelka, Ravel’s Daphnis et Chloé, and Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition.

In the Heart of Baroque

In 2026, the Bavarian Radio Choir will celebrate its 80th anniversary. It will perform at a choir concert on July 28, 2026, in Pfarrkirche St. Gallus, Bregenz in Bregenz.
