How can opera sound, look, and be experienced in the 21st century? In the Opera Atelier, the Bregenzer Festspiele and the Kunsthaus Bregenz open a space for artists to share ideas, explore possibilities, and develop concepts that may lead to a world premiere on the Werkstattbühne. Audiences are invited to follow this creative journey over several years. Following the world premieres of To the Lighthouse (2017) and Wind (2021), an explorer and a returnee set out on a new voyage: the Belgian-Irish composer Éna Brennan and the British director and artistic director David Pountney.
